While the United States has normally been divided by ‘east vs west of the Mississippi,’ the rail industries have historically been divided by ‘east vs west of Chicago.’ An eastern road usually came into Chicago from Indiana, while a western road departed Chicago headed for the Pacific.

In this 2023 calendar, we see popular rail locations west of Chicago, featuring 10 states from Montana to Arkansas to Arizona, and more! We see Union Pacific, BNSF, and regional lines in all seasons.
